| dc.description.abstract | The current drought in Andalusia, due to its extraordinary duration and intensity, is very appropriate to compare the treatment of the different drought indicators, both those that only depend on precipitation and the Normalized Precipitation Drought Index (SPI). , prepared by T.B. McKee, N.J. Doesken and J. Kleinst, from Colorado State University, in 1993, recommended by the World Meteorological Organization and used as an early warning system by many National Meteorological Services, at their different time integration scales, as well as others that include additional related variables with the storage capacity and demand for soil moisture, very important with the increase in temperatures due to climate change and which are reaching very significant values in the south of Spain. In this sense, the Palmer index is very suitable for analyzing and quantifying drought conditions in Andalusia. | es_ES |
