Transporte de humedad y su influencia en la precipitación asociada a la ocurrencia de DANAs sobre Europa

Abstract

Cut off lows are meteorological structures that consist of a low-pressure system located between the middle and upper troposphere. These structures are produced by the rippling of the jet stream and the shedding of a cold center over lower latitudes. These have a significant effect on precipitation in southern Europe, with their occurrence increasing in recent years. In this work, a methodology is proposed that allows studying the influence of moisture sources on the precipitation associated with Cut Off lows over Europe through a Lagrangian particle dispersion model. To do this, the contributions of the North Atlantic and Mediterranean sources are analyzed to see their influence on a case study.
