Riesgo de eventos meteorológicos extremos en España: impactos, escenarios futuros y herramientas para mejorar la resiliencia y adaptación al cambio climático: proyecto EXMERISK

Abstract

EXMERISK aims to overcome the existing information limitations to manage efficiently extreme meteorological and hydrological events by developing, for the first time in Spain, a detailed dataset on impacts of extreme meteorological and hydrological events, including future risk projections. This approach will be based on a multi- sectorial perspective, useful for assessing social and environmental vulnerability and risk, and it will be linked to the development and application of the Spanish law, as EXMERISK will analyze how extreme meteorological events have influenced the Spanish law, and it will assess the effectiveness of existing environmental regulations and the feasibility of policy proposals under development in response to the challenges caused by the extreme meteorological and hydrological events under climate change.
