Convección estival en las comunidades de Madrid y Castilla-La Mancha

Abstract

[ES]Este trabajo es el resultado de la recogida de datos de descargas eléctricas durante el verano del 2001 desde el 30 de mayo hasta el 24 de septiembre, con 53 días con descargas, y con más de 53.000 rayos, 43.000 negativos y 8000 positivos. En él se analiza la distribución de las descargas tanto en el espacio como en el tiempo. Se localizan las zonas de máxima y mínima actividad, y se compara con las climatologías de días de tormenta

[EN]The complex orography of the Madrid and Castilla-La Mancha regions determines the localisation of convection-related phenomena. In this work, the lightning distribution is studied using data collected during the summer of 2001. The analysis of the spatial distribution shows notorious differences over valleys and mountains, as well as over the Central and the Iberian ranges. The time distribution demonstrates the influence of the orography on the diurnal cycle. The spatial distribution of lightning occurrence yields similar results than previous Works based on in-situ observations
