La evolución climática estival en el Golfo de Vizcaya: impactos sobre el potencial turístico

Abstract

[ES]Este trabajo analiza la evolución del potencial climático turístico estival a orillas del Golfo de Vizcaya desde 1961 hasta la actualidad, y su relación con la dinámica atmosférica regional. No se observa un aumento sustancial en la frecuencia de días aptos para la actividad turística, aunque sí una mejoría en el grado de confortabilidad de la misma. A escala regional se puede determinar la existencia de 3 regiones diferentes, Galicia, Cantábrico (incluyendo Aquitania) y costa occidental de Francia, mostrando cada una de ellas un potencial turístico diferente en función de factores geográficos como la latitud y la orografía.

[EN]This contribution analyzes the temporal evolution of the climate-touristic potential along the coast of the Gulf of Biscay from 1961 onwards, and its links with the regional atmospheric circulation. There is not observed a substantial increase in the frequency of suitable days for tourism, although a improvement of the comfort is obtained. Three different regions are defined, Galicia, Cantábrico (including most of Aquitaine) and the western coast of France, each of them enjoying contrasted touristic potential due to geographical factors such as latitude and orography.
