Un modelo de simultaneidad de las brisas marinas en Mallorca

Abstract

[ES]Se ha confeccionado un modelo de simultaneidad de las brisas marinas en la isla de Mallorca, de acuerdo con la hipótesis según la cual durante el ciclo diurno hay al menos tres episodios simultáneos de brisa, correspondientes a tres distintas localizaciones o emplazamientos espaciales de la isla, y que corresponden a tres exposiciones costeras posibles (la bahía de Palma al sur, la bahía de Alcúdia al norte, y el Levante de Mallorca).

[EN]The study of climatological and geographic circumstances that lead to the establishment of a typical breeze regime, meets in the island of Majorca a wide and extraordinary experimental field. The special configuration and disposition of the island’s land coasts (100 km length × 80 km width), as well as its latitudinal subtropical location, favor the recurrence of the phenomenon of sea and land breezes, for which its main aerological and geographical features are known. Since the idea which presumes a theoretical multiplicity of the island breezes –that is a distinctive breeze for every orientation or exposure of its coasts–, based precisely in the physical insularity of the land, a model of simultaneity of the sea-breezes in Majorca has been set, according to the hypothesis which, and ideally, there are during the diurnal cicle at least three simultaneous breeze episodes, corresponding to three coastal exposures (the Palma bay southerly, the Alcúdia bay northerly and the East coast of the island).
