Variaciones del régimen extremal del clima marítimo en el litoral español en el periodo 1958-2001

Abstract

[ES]El fenómeno global de cambio climático implica la posible alteración en factores climáticos, como es el clima marítimo. Un aspecto a estudiar de especial interés son las tendencias temporales de los eventos extremales. En este trabajo se analiza el régimen extremal de altura de ola, marea metereológica y velocidad del viento a lo largo del litoral español para el periodo 1958-2001. Los resultados mas significativos en un análisis preliminar, indican un aumento general de la marea meteorológica extremal y distintas tendencias en el oleaje y viento que llegan a nuestras costas en función de la localización geográfica.

[EN]The global warming implies the possible alteration in other forms of climate change, such as the wave climate. One interesting aspect to study is the variability of extreme events. In this work, the long-term extreme value distributions of significant wave height, surge and wind ’s velocity along the Spanish coast, in the period 1958-2001, are analysed. After a preliminary analysis, a positive trend of the extreme storm surge and changing trends in the wave and wind extreme values along the coast are detected.
